I have a B.A in English with a minor in Women's and Gender Studies and a Master of Arts in Education from Truman State University. For the first seven years of my professional career, I taught English Language Arts at the middle school level. Working with students in the classroom was an amazing learning experience - both incredibly humbling and invigorating.

Following a move across the state, I decided to explore new opportunities in the field of education. This led me to a position in educational sourcing and recruitment. After demonstrating a keen understanding of best practices for online teaching and tutoring as well as the ability to independently problem solve, I was promoted to the position of Market Operations Specialist within the sourcing and recruitment department. In this role, I work on deadline-driven projects to solve issues or to meet KPIs.

In 2020, I began learning about coding and web development through Coursera, Scrimba, FreeCodeCamp, Udemy, LinkedIn, and SheCodes. As a proponent of online learning best practices, learning about how to make things seemed prudent. As I learn more, my list of what I'd like to learn just keeps growing. Currently, I am learning React and improving my understanding of Javascript.
